Many of the Internet giants wrote an open letter to the US Government calling for surveillance reform. It calls for sensible surveillance with checks, balances and oversight. As Fred Wilson states, “When you get a National Security Letter, you have no choice but to comply, even if it violates everything you and your company stand for.” Remember that two email services closed shop rather than comply?
Our economy right revolves around the Internet. Cloud companies have spent billions to ramp up for a demand that is being adversely affected by the current US surveillance state. We can’t have that. Add your voice to the call for reform.
